Today's camera phone reality

Today nearly all images ever taken with camera phones just stay on the camera phone. They are never printed, shared or published, because accessing these images, ordering prints online, or uploading the images to a photo web site is much too complicated for the normal user.

The "zero click" idea

Our idea with n2u was to fully automate all these complicated tasks. The user just has to shoot an image and all the rest is "zero click" or fully automatic.

There are two main technologies which make this system unique:

Colour-Science's intelligent image enhancement technology (density and color correction, red eye removal, adaptive sharpening). Also the automatic image rotation using face detection technology is unique. Both technologies are integrated in the n2uSmartClient (see: www.colour-science.com).  

eXaNetworks unique peer to peer photo web publishing technology (see: http://www.exanetworks.com). This technology needs more then 30x less serverspace to publish photos of any size (50kb per photo). Only with this technology it is possible to publish all images in your album without preselection. This is a key technology enabeling the zero click web publishing.

How it works:

• Shoot a photo with your camera phone and it will instantly be sent to the n2u web server using any available connection (GPRS/UMTS, WiFi, USB cable, Bluetooth)
  (At the moment we are still working on the wireless GPRS/UMTS transfer of images to the n2u server)

• Your photos can be instantly reviewed with any web browser

• Your photos can be instantly reviewed with any digital TV connected to a n2u enabled settop box. (At the moment we are talking to interested digital TV providers to offer this option)

• You can order prints worldwide or share photos and albums with your friends using a standard web browser.

• The high resolution jpg files will be automatically transmitted and saved to the "my photo archive" folder on your home PC

• All images are automatically enhanced and portrait photos are automatically rotated in upright position.

• The original image files are also saved for backup.

• In your "n2u photo archive" images are saved in year and month subfolders. Filenames get a date and time prefix so that also images from different cameras are always sorted chronologically.

• The "n2u smart client" will always save the original images together with the enhanced images.
